PrideStaff is recruiting for an X-Ray Technician/Medical Assistant for 1st Shift for a healthcare provider located in Asheville.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Position patients and equipment to capture the correct area and produce clear images
- Prepare and educate patients about the imaging procedure
- Maintain patients’ records during and after procedures
- Monitor patients and ensure their safety during imaging procedures
- Calibrate the equipment to provide clear, usable images
- Log and organize image results, develop film and assist with the interpretation of the radiograph results
- Consult with Radiologists to determine if other images need to be taken
- Ensure the proper sterilization and storage of the equipment
- Maintain radiographic equipment, and report any equipment failures
- Collect and record medical history, take and record vital signs from in-office patients for provider.
- Answer, document, prioritize and return incoming patient telephone calls.
- Request patient reports from another medical provider as requested by physician
- Administer medication as ordered by provider.
- Assist provider with procedure as requested.
- Handle patient inquiries and concerns in reference to their clinical treatment, etc.
- Maintain Privacy and HIPAA standards.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Associates degree or certification in radiologic studies, radiologic technology, or other relevant fields
- Proven work experience as a Radiology Technician or similar role
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and patient service skills
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- The physical stamina to stand for long periods and operate heavy machinery without assistance
Hours of Work: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $21.00 – $24.00 Per Hour
