About the Team

The Product Development team, under the AT&T Technology Services organization, is responsible for building software-based products, services, and platforms that enable responsiveness to the market and our customers’ expectations to deliver the best experience across our networks and all customer segments. As part of our team, you’ll harness technology and rebuild software expertise to inspire simplicity with projects that deliver revenue and cost saving opportunities.

About the Job

As Professional Product Development Engineer (Software Engineer), you’ll deliver great products and services that will delight our customers. You’ll be responsible for developing and operating a robust and efficient façade that acts as a unified access point for various internal platform capabilities, providing streamlined API access for both internal and external consumers and ensuring seamless orchestration of backing services.

Key Role and Responsibilities

· Build and maintain robust, scalable, and high performance Java-based Microservices

· Steward well-documented APIs to facilitate seamless integration for internal and external consumers

· Identify architecture optimizations that improve cost and/or reliability of our systems

· Participate as an individual contributor in an agile team

Education and Experience

· Bachelors degree in a related field preferred

· 3-5 years of software development experience

· Experience with CI/CD tooling

· Experience working REST based microservices

· Experience acting as a coordinator between different APIs

· Java and JVM ecosystem knowledge

· Proven track record of maintaining and operating services in production

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex system issues.

· Embraces a growth mindset and continuously seeks opportunities to learn, adapt, and enhance skillset.

Additional Technical Experience

· SQL and NoSQL Datastores (Mongo, Postgres, Redis)

· Kafka

· Test Driven Development (TDD)/Behavior Driven Development (BDD) Methodologies

· Azure experience preferred

Our Professional Product Development Engineers earn between $105,000-$196,100. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
