As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives. The Finance and Risk Data Controls organization (FRDC) not only acquires and manages data across all lines of businesses but also provides certain key core services that empower data scientists, risk managers and asset class controllers to truly harness the power of our data to effectively report on the firm’s performance and risk exposure.

Job responsibilities

  • Be conversant with the overall functional design of the application.
  • Architect and deploy a modern micro service based application.
  • Adopt cutting edge technology practices such as containerization, public cloud adoption.
  • Mentor a team of Java developers providing regular feedback and guidance.
  • Work with partner technology teams as well as business users to help drive the key initiatives undertaken.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience with newer application development paradigms Event driven, Micro Services, Scalable & Self-healing systems.
  • Exposure to one major cloud platform Pivotal Cloud, AWS, Google Cloud and Azure.
  • Minimum of 10 years as Java developer with the knowledge of the following technologies:
  • JDK 8, Spring boot, Spring cloud
  • Event/Message driven architectures: KAFKA, Messaging (MQ Series , JMS)
  • Database: Oracle, Aurora MySQL (any relational databases)
  • BDD/TTD: Cucumber, Selenium, Jasmin/Karma, etc
  • Versed with CI/CD toolsets like Maven, Jenkins
  • Working experience on large-scale applications in an enterprise environment.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Modern web technologies such as NodeJS, AngularJS, React, Redux, or Typescript.
  • Prior experience with No-Sql databases (especially Mongo DB or Dynamo)
  • Prior experience with AWS is a huge plus
  • Working knowledge of the Databricks Lake House platform
