Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner

The AP Infusion Nurse practices on patients in the infusion suites. This position exists to provide patient services, including patient intake, Evaluation/Management, access patients for IV administration and set-up for IV or other infusion devices to administer fluids or medication. The coordination of services and care is delivered to ensure that the proper medication dosage is administered appropriately and to educate patients about their medication and answer any questions they may have within the practitioners’ scope of practice.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare notes, conduct patient calls, and generate health reports sent to other healthcare providers to ensure the accurate, thorough dissemination of relevant information.
• Deliver counseling and guidance to patients and authorized family members for treatment and care plans.

• Supervise and administer intravenous infusions with clinic evaluation of new patients
• Ensure delivery of the proper dosage
• Answer questions from the patient
• Create a calming environment and make sure the patient is comfortable during the treatment
• Receive orders from physicians –ensure patient scheduling
• Welcomes patients, explains procedures to reduce patient questions and anxiety, checks vitals, administers therapy, monitors reactions, and furnishes follow-up as necessary.
• Address emergencies (with or without outside assistance) if necessary.
• Provides infusion treatments such as hydration, drug, and solutions administration.

Requirements:

• 2-3 Years of experience in Infusion medicine practice
• Advanced Practice RN licensure
• Current APRN license –State of Illinois

The salary range, based on experience, starts at $98K with 0-1 year experience.
