Software Engineer
The Challenge:

As a back-end developer, you know that a good system needs the right combination of clean code, APIs, analytics, and infrastructure to build a user-focused solution. You can apply your skills and knowledge to lead a team that works together to devise a solution.
On our team, you’ll be trusted to help customers solve problems using the latest architectural approaches like microservices. Using industry standard authorization mechanisms like OAuth 2.0, you’ll work with the development team to build and secure API’s. You’ll use open-source frameworks and tools like Java and Spring to design custom API’s and backend services with consistent performance and scalability.
In this role, you’ll directly impact the lives of countless Veterans by creating and maintaining APIs consumed by first and third-party applications and services. With mentoring, code reviews, and opportunities to learn new tools and skills, we focus on growing as a team to make the best solutions for our customers. A drive to continue learning and to grow as a developer will be key to succeed in this role. This position is open to remote delivery anywhere within the U.S., to include the District of Columbia.

You Have:
3+ years of experience developing using Java
Experience with Spring Boot microservices
Knowledge of API development
Knowledge of SOAP, REST, or RPC architecture styles
Knowledge of modern source control systems
Ability to understand front-end user requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
Bachelor’s degree
Nice If You Have:
Experience with OAuth
Experience developing using Node
Experience with containerization technologies
Experience with Cloud Service Providers
Experience supporting the Federal Government, VA, or Healthcare IT
Knowledge of CMMI Maturity Level 3

Salary for this position is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, location, the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract specific affordability and organizational requirements. The proposed salary range for this position is outlined below.
Colorado: $91,400 – $186,700 (annualized USD)
New York (including New York City): $96,000 – $220,600 (annualized USD)
