SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Our client, a global leader in manufacturing packaged goods, is looking to add a Senior Accountant to their organization in Morristown, NJ.

SALARY/HOURLY RATE:

$40/hr – $50/hr

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Senior Accountant will prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information as well as fixed assets. They will maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies among other duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT:

• Maintains the general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries
• Summarizes financial statuses by collecting information, preparing balance sheets, profit and loss, and other statements
• Produces payroll by initiating computer processing, printing checks, and verifying finished product
• Completes external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts, and providing information for auditors
• Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements
• Secures financial information by completing database backups
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT:

• 5 – 10 years of accounting experience
• Compliance & GAAP knowledge
• Inventory experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Public accounting experience is preferred

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting
• Candidate looking to pursue CPA is a plus
