Position Purpose
The Programmer Analyst I writes, tests, and debugs programs and maintains mainframe or computer systems in order to improve the availability, usability, reliability, and productivity of the system. Supports maintenance of existing systems and programs while responding to information requests.
Ensure the integrity of data storage and backup systems. Maintains connectivity and monitoring security tools. Manages the configuration of all server operating systems. Review, maintain and update all security documents as needed. Add, remove and update user information such as logins and passwords. Document and update all network configurations. Test software, hardware and reviews all server log files.
Essential Functions
1 Plans, codes, tests, and debugs application-specific software programs running on a mainframe or computer to develop and maintain computer systems capable of addressing business needs; tests, maintains, and monitors computer programs and systems.
2 Makes modifications or updates to existing mainframe or computer software to improve service delivery and customize applications according to departmental needs; provides technical assistance to solve computer related problems and malfunctions.
3 Drafts job control language, change notices to users, and system/program documentation to place new or modified programs in production; coordinates and links systems within an organization or department to increase compatibility and productivity.
4 Programs and runs ad-hoc reports as requested by users.
5 Prepares cost analysis of maintenance or enhancement of existing programs.
6 Responds to and resolves mainframe computer problems experienced by systems analysts in departments.
7 Conducts routine maintenance on users’ data files to maintain availability and quality of databases.
8 Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in computer science, MIS, science, math or business fields.
EXPERIENCE:
- One (1) year of experience in programming, analyzing, and designing distributed systems and/or mainframe environments.
EQUIVALENCIES:
- High school diploma or GED plus five (5) years of the required experience will meet the education and experience requirements.
- An associate degree in any field plus Three (3) years of the required experience will meet the education and experience requirements.
- A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a non-specified field plus Three (3) years of the required experience will meet the education and experience requirements.
CERTIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to obtain one of the following certifications within the six (6) months probationary period:
- Current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Current Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Must pass TSA background check.
- Availability to work varying shifts (days, evenings, nights) including weekends, holidays.
- May be subject to twenty-four/seven (24/7) emergency call outs.
PREFERENCES:
- Ability to explain your experience with Windows Servers using features DNS server what is Primary, Secondary and Stub zone.
- Experience using Active Directory’s where the database is held and what is the primary function of the domain controller and the SYSVOL folder.
- Experience in configuring a DHCP server such as that it allocates the same IP address to certain devices each time the address is removed.
- Experience in TCP/IP configurations and IP connectivity, what command line utilities that can be used to check.
- Experience Optimizing network hardware and software to enable VMware integration.
- Experience Developing and deploying customized VMware solutions.
- Experience Defining multiple virtual servers on a single host machine.
- Experience Virtualizing Windows servers and connecting them to networks and clouds.
- Experience Designing and implementing virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and enabling template management
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Project management skills are a plus.
- Subject to overtime, emergency re-call, nights and/or weekends.
Aviation Operations Technology: The selected candidate must be able to determine business needs, evaluate existing network infrastructure and systems. Transportation Security Administration background clearance is required.

The salary listed on this job posting is the starting salary range; amount offered will depend upon qualifications.
For evaluation purposes, acceptable qualifying experience for all positions must have been in a paid capacity unless noted otherwise in the minimum qualifications for the posted position.
Additionally, 30+ hours per week will be counted as full-time employment and will receive full credit for the amount of time employed. A minimum of 15 through 29 work hours per week will be counted as part-time employment and will receive half credit for the amount of time employed.
