Work Days: Monday-Friday

Exemption Status: Exempt

Salary Range: $117,400.00 – $156,427.00

*As required under NYC Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018 – Salary range for this role when Hired for NYC Offices

Position Summary

Functions in a multi-faceted leadership role as a clinical resource, preceptor, QA/QI representative, Infection Control representative and Registered Nurse. Works collaboratively with multi-disciplinary health care team to optimize team performance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manages the day-to-day clinical operations of the practice.
  • Supervises clinical floor staff in carrying out clinical duties. Assesses and evaluates ongoing performance, maintains and manages clinical competencies and plans and implements daily schedules.
  • Implements clinical and non-clinical policies with the clinical floor staff. Monitors and reviews performance improvement activities for clinical floor staff functions.
  • Ensures quality standards by conducting environmental rounds to ensure the practice is in compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Operates as a clinical resource for the staff, confers with clinicians in order to maintain patient safety & provides guidance through the new hire orientation process.
  • Maintains on-going awareness of patient needs while he/she is waiting for exam & during the provision of nursing care. Responds to inquiries & refers matters to appropriate others or physician, keeping patient informed as needed.
  • Dispenses medications as prescribed and/or directed by Physician. Documents administration and dispensing of medications. Performs venous injections as needed. Monitors patients pre- and post administration for adverse/allergic reactions.
  • Provides relevant health teaching & post-procedure instructions to patients. Reviews daily appointment schedules to assist in managing efficient patient flow.
  • Ensures that Emergency Cart is not expired and lock is not broken, documents daily in log book. Ensures that emergency medical supplies are stocked and not expired.
  • Oversees and maintains inventory of medical supplies. Maintains and stores proper/adequate amount of medications and other medical supplies. Maintains cleanliness of equipment and dressing rooms.

Education

  • Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing

Experience

At least five years experience as staff nurse in physician office or hospital setting required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).

Licenses and Certifications

  • Current NYS RN registration and license
  • BLS certification (issued by the American Heart Association)
  • Infection Control Certificate.
