Chapter Next is a 12-16 week paid returnship hosted by RMS. Candidates who have taken a professional career hiatus for at least 2+ years will be eligible to apply to this program.

During this returnship participants will become part of a community of similarly experienced professionals with challenging work scopes that contribute to the great innovation produced by Lockheed Martin! Selected candidates will be exposed to comprehensive training, professional development opportunities, networking opportunities, and individual based mentoring

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) in Orlando, FL is seeking a Summer 2023 Software Engineering Intern. In this role, you will be expected to: perform software development across various technology stacks; support and grow in Rotary, Land, and Global Training Systems programs; participate in cross functional agile teams. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of modern programming languages including object-oriented design, and the ability and desire to learn and execute across various domains. Must be a US Citizen; this position will require the ability to obtain a government security clearance.

Basic Qualifications

– Experience developing software in C++ and/or
Java
– Familiarity with a variety of software technologies (e.g., Java C/C++, Python, JavaScript, Typescript, Angular, RESTful APIs)
– Ability to collaborate with a team of developers
– Experience with Linux/Unix/Windows based systems
– Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in
a related discipline, or equivalent
experience/combined education.
– Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance, therefore, U.S. Citizenship is required

Desired skills

Learning Orientation to support in: programming and scripting (e.g. C++, C#, Ada, Javascript, Python, Matlab), subject matters (e.g. physics based simulations, model based systems engineering, agile methodologies and tools, advanced math, artificial intelligence/machine learning), and gaming development (e.g. Unreal, Unity)
Knowledge or ability to learn at least one cloud environment, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
Proficient with Microsoft Office

Ability to work remotely

Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Security Clearance Information

This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
