DESCRIPTION

Responsible for applying principles and techniques of computer science and mathematical analysis in order to analyze user needs. Research, design, develop and maintain software solutions that are scalable and robust. Responsible for ensuring quality of one or more application codebases and alignment with development standards. Collaborate with product management and other teams across company to ensure error-free releases in a timely manner. Collaborate closely with Data Scientists on the team and set up ETL jobs to pull data from various data sources, manipulate it, and publish it to the data lake. Participate in code review sessions to provide feedback on the code written by other engineers on the team, and provide technical mentoring to junior engineers on the team. Build and maintain scalable infrastructure where our applications and services can be hosted. Opportunity to telecommute from the Manteca, CA area 3-4 days per week. Tools and technologies used: Java, Scala, Map Reduce, Apache Hadoop, and Apache Spark, Amazon web service, datadog, grafana and pagerDuty.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements:Master’s degree in computer science, information systems, mathematics, or a related field (foreign equivalent degree acceptable), plus 3 years of experience in software development (would also accept a bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of progressively responsible post-baccalaureate experience). Experience must include 3 years in/with: backend languages (Java and/or Python); Frameworks such as SpringBoot; database and schema design (SQL, NoSQL); building REST APIs.; cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS); frontend/UI development (ReactJS, CSS). Experience must include 1 year in/with: Git and CI/CD workflows; setting up ETL pipelines and systems for data analytics (Apache Spark, Elasticsearch); and communication skills with an ability to present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Opportunity to telecommute from the Manteca, CA area 3-4 days per week. Salary range $157,477/year to $185,000/year, M-F, 40 hours/week.
