Preferred Qualifications

At least two years of experience in program management and/or supervision of staff. At least four years of experience using Java, Spring, AngularJS, and REST web services. At least four years of experience programming Java applications from specifications expressed by use cases, class diagrams, interaction diagrams and sequence diagrams. At least four years of experience with SQL and Oracle databases. Experience with database object creation and management. At least four years of experience integrating applications using web services. Experience with public health or healthcare data systems.

Responsibilities

The Senior Software Engineer/Developer will support the integration of data from ECLRS and Wadsworth into public health surveillance systems such Healthcare Infection Surveillance. The incumbent will aso assist in development and operation of Universal Public Health Node (UPHN) infrastructure for delivery and return of electronic laboratory reports, and laboratory orders and results. Specific duties will include: overseeing application development tasks including researching and documenting technical designs, programming solutions, and customer technical support; developing unit tests and testing processes autonomously to ensure conformity of the application with business requirements and implement change management; overseeing the release management process, including the testing, promoting and releasing of applications through the development environment; and leading code critique sessions and overseeing the development of technical design documentation. Other appropriate related duties as assigned.

Conditions of Employment

Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.

This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting may not be available. If telecommuting is available, the incumbent will be required to have a telephone/mobile device, and internet access.
