Job Description
This position plays an integral role in the Carnival Cruise Line’s month-end closing and reporting process, including variance analysis and internal financial reporting and analysis, review of balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries. These individual leads special projects and is a key contributor to the growth of the Finance department by providing a strong professional presence and superior financial accounting, analysis and reporting expertise.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Manage and oversee the month-end close process for Financial Reporting and Accounting team which includes review of complex journal entries, variance explanations and analysis, and preparation and review of monthly internal financial statements for senior leadership.
- Manage and oversee the monthly, quarterly closing activities for Carnival Finance organization, including monitoring of corporate tasks & deadlines, and communication to the business, oversee monthly Carnival finance variance meetings, oversee Corporate deliverables including quarterly variance analysis and other required reporting, and primary liaison between Carnival finance and RAAS and PWC (internal and external auditors).
- Manage and supervise the Financial Reporting and Accounting team and various tasks and activities, including review of Balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist and support senior management in special projects, ad-hoc requests and reports, including research and implementation of accounting policies and procedures and special analysis.
- Support and oversee the General Ledger and reporting related functions for the finance organization.
- Support management during internal and external audit reviews.
REQUIREMENTS:

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelorâs Degree in Accounting required.
- 8+ years of experience/2+ years of manager experience in accounting.
- Experience in public accounting (Big 4 or other large public accounting firm).
- Previous accounting manager experience with large public company.
- Previous experience with Oracle Financial Systems, Hyperion Essbase.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- CPA Certified required.

The range for this roleâs base salary is $115,000 – $125,000. Offers to select candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.
