Overview and Responsibilities
Paramount+ is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the International Web development team. Ideal candidates will encompass strong technical knowledge with extensive experience in designing and developing scalable web applications. The day to day for this role will include building, extending, and maintaining features on the ever evolving Paramount+ web application. If chosen for the role you will work with a distributed team and get to collaborate with people of different backgrounds from around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and support high performance, scalable, and innovative features to operate within the Paramount+ framework
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills to lead through all aspects of the development cycle
  • Monitor and improve application performance
  • Collaborate and coach engineers
  • Partner with our Engineering teams (front-end, back-end) and DevOps teams to build and deploy high-performing services
  • Help build a culture of good engineering processes and practices
  • Projecting different use-cases that will come forth due to localization
  • Work in all phases of software development
  • Manage and optimize application dependencies
  • Continuously enhance CI/CD pipeline by writing tests or leveraging software to ensure stability for our platform
  • Design and build A/B test features

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with web application development
  • BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
  • Deep understanding of Object Oriented Programming and Design, data structures, and algorithms
  • Deep understanding of web application development and best practices
  • Experience developing responsive websites
  • Solid JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS, Sass, HTML ability
  • Solid experience developing apps with React and/or Vue.js (preferably with SSR)
  • Experience with Node.js
  • Experience with Unit Testing technologies in JS
  • Good understanding of HTTP protocol and caching layers
  • Solid knowledge of HTML DOM and Event APIs
  • Solid knowledge of Webpack
  • Solid knowledge of Git
  • Effective communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with microservices
  • Experience with React frameworks like Next.js
  • Experience with GraphQL
  • Experience with PHP and frameworks like Lumen, Symfony, Laravel, or Zend
  • Experience with E2E frameworks
  • Working knowledge of Docker and CI tools
  • Experience using Module Federation and/or other micro frontend tools/frameworks
  • Understanding or experience with Atomic Design Concepts
  • Eagerness to collaborate with Product and Design to ensure high-standard of UX
  • Humility to speak up when lacking knowledge or experience in an area
  • Experience working asynchronously across time zones.
  • Passionate about delivering without compromising standards

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $135,000.00 – 160,000.00. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
