Registered Nurse’s Responsibilities

• Obtains the patient’s pertinent medical history.
• Prepares the patient for the physician to do minor surgery in the clinic procedure room.
• Assist the physician in performing cystoscopys, biopsies dilatations, and minor urologic procedures.
• Responsible for performing catheterization using sterile technique giving catheter care and bladder irrigation.
• Performs cystometrogram (CMG) and follow-up under the indirect supervision of the physician. Performs flow studies and bladder scans for residual urine testing.
• Ultrasound set up for prostate biopsies, the performance of voiding trails, and records results.
• Performs independent patient health education for patients requiring self-catheterization in the home.

Registered Nurse’s Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in BSN required
• A current Texas RN License required
• CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) required
• Must have experience working in a Physician’s office
• Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus
• EMR- Epic experience is a plus
