Hospice Nurse Benefits

• Pay starting at $34 per hour for LPNs and $37 per hour for RNs
• 13-week contract to direct hire

Responsibilities

• Care for individual based on personalized plan of care
• Informs director of nursing and any other appropriate personnel of changes in the client’s conditions and needs
• Counsels client and family through the hospice care process while updating family on a regular basis
• Assures proper maintenance of clinical records in compliance with local, state, and federal laws
• Participates in agency performance improvement activities and continuously staying informed about changes in the field of nursing and home health care

Requirements

• Current unrestricted LPN or RN license in the state of Illinois
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Must have graduated from a National League of Nursing accredited program
• Have experience with clients on ventilators and maintaining the settings.
• Must have experience with tracheotomy care and suctioning.
• One year of document hospice experience required. Three to five (3-5) years of clinical experience with one year experience in a home health agency, primary care clinic, or health facility preferred
• Current driver’s license with reliable car and auto insurance
• CPR certified – American Heart Association/Red Cross
• Current physical and negative TB test/chest x-ray
• Clean background and criminal record
• Understands regulatory compliance with state and federal regulations
• Adhere to HIPAA and maintain client confidentiality
