Description of Duties/Essential Functions

Under general supervision and in conformance with established standards, procedures and policy, provides a full-range of professional nursing services in the care and treatment of residents; such as administering medications, monitoring vital signs, examining residents using nursing assessment skills and monitoring physical conditions and reactions to various treatments and adheres to State and Federal regulatory guidelines utilizing professional training and experience in the field of nursing; under the direction of a physician provides first aid and emergency medical care in cases of illness, injury and other medical emergencies. performs assigned nursing care duties and adheres to State and Federal regulatory guidelines utilizing professional training and experience in the field of nursing. Prepares and maintains medical records and histories such as recording physician’s orders, charting medications, recording resident conditions and behaviors.

Minimum Requirements

Requires graduation from an approved nursing education program resulting in an associate degree or a diploma in nursing or a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Requires licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois. Requires the ability to evaluate patient condition and behavior and prepare accurate, detailed records of such observations. Requires working knowledge of diversified professional nursing principles, concepts and practices; requires working knowledge of the application, use and care of specialized medical equipment; requires working knowledge of pharmacology of commonly prescribed medicines. Requires ability to apply emergency medical techniques such as CPR. Honorable discharge from the U.S. Military preferred.

Monthly Salary Range: $4,881.00 – $6,621.00
Anticipated Monthly Salary: $4,881.00
