Senior Network Engineer

Seeking a Senior Network Engineer (Hybrid) for a client in North Houston (near IAH airport).

Compensation / Work Schedule:

• Base salary $105k – $135k DOE plus 10% bonus opportunity and full benefits package
• 2 days per week in office / 3 days work-from-home

• Dell Routing and Switching gear (similar to Cisco)
• Good Verbal and Written communication skills
• Vendor management (Support and Circuit)
• Network Engineering and Architecture

Implementation, configuration and administration of servers, switches, routers, security appliances, and communication equipment. Implement and maintain solutions to provide for the safe and secure storage and archival of data, maintaining a functional, tested and reliable disaster recovery environment. Assist in administering solutions with complex requirements and multiple interdependencies.

Job Functions

• Design and implement network technologies to include Dell, Cisco, Palo Alto, and other hardware / software platforms.
• Monitor and maintain all network / WAN connectivity to support efficient branch office communications and perform capacity planning
• Collaborate with other network staff to find solutions to complex networking issues
• Azure and on-prem network administration
• Propose design improvements and making recommendations and implementations to achieve best practices.
• Interact with internal clients to resolve issues; communicate with internal clients in a professional manner maintaining discretion.
• Provide support to Systems, Telecom and Support teams when escalated
• Coordinate with 3rd party support on complex infrastructure issues and serve as incident owner through full incident lifecycle including reporting, researching, resolution, RCA and lessons learned

Education & Experience

• Bachelors Degree in IT/MIS or related field
• 10+ years’ experience in related IT infrastructure
• Experience configuring Layer 2 and layer 3 networking with 802.1q (VLANs), 802.1af/at (PoE), 802.1d (STP), BGP, OSPF, LACP
• Palo Alto Firewall experience is a plus
• Scripting skills are a plus
