LABORATORY ASSISTANT

Our client, an industry-leading household and personal care product manufacturer, is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support the laboratory team. SALARY/HOURLY RATE:

$18 – $23/hr Dependent on experience

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Laboratory Assistant will be joining a dedicated team to ensure timely testing of products, while supporting the team collecting data and performing experiments. The Laboratory Assistant should be prepared to record and summarize results in a lab notebook and perform data entry. The ideal candidate should feel confident with computer and other technical skills because the team also uses robotic equipment and should be committed to proper safety protocol as the position requires work with hazardous chemicals. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE LABORATORY ASSISTANT:

• Assist Senior Technicians with lab testing
• Evaluate, collect, and record data
• Organize and handle samples
• Operate, calibrate and maintain lab equipment
• Strictly follow SOPs and safety procedures
• Collaborate across departments while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE LABORATORY ASSISTANT:

• 0 to 2 years of experience in a lab setting, preferably analytical chemistry and/or cGMP lab, but academic is acceptable
• Ability to stand throughout the day in the lab
• Strong computer skills to work with lab software and robotics
• Comfortable working with toxic chemicals
• Willingness to work as part of a busy, fast-paced team – not afraid to speak up and ask questions

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other related sciences required
