Only 8-12 hours per week with a set schedule Monday-Thursday.<\/p>\n<p><b>Job Summary:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The School Nurse will treat students for medical issues, help prevent physical issues and disease, and coordinate routine health assessments.<\/p>\n<p><b>Qualifications<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or an Associate Degree in Nursing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>CPR\/AED Certification<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum experience requirement &#8211; 12 months<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The ability to implement emergency care including the ability to independently respond to an emergency, perform CPR, administer emergency medications, and other lifesaving measures within standard practice guidelines<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms, both internally and externally<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds, stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, drive and\/or be mobile<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Valid Texas driver&#8217;s license with applicable insurance coverage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Supervisory Responsibilities:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>None.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Responsibilities<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Responsible for implementation of health programs, health counseling with students, parents, and staff, provision of preventive health services, augmentation of health education programs, and liaison with the school community<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Develops, implements, and monitors health care plans and emergency plans for designated students<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Participates in program planning to meet the needs of students with special health care needs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Utilizes case management and the nursing process to manage the health care of students with chronic illness<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Provides direct health care, emergency first aid care, medication administration, and related health services according to state laws and HISD policies and procedures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Provides preventive health care by: assessing the safety needs of students, conducting state mandated screening programs, including referral and follow-up; recognizing, reporting, and using control measures for communicable diseases; and monitoring and providing follow-up on immunization compliance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Provides students and families with health and medical resources and assists families with access to medical care<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Conducts age-appropriate health programs and activities in collaboration with school staff<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Counsels students and families on health conditions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Collaborates with community agencies and campus staff to implement a comprehensive school health program and the development of campus health program goals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Performs other job-related duties as assigned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"jobbi-2713783931\" class=\"jobbi-ad-placement-jobsite-bottom jobbi-entity-placement\"><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-5862940809620110\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n     data-ad-layout-key=\"-6t+ed+2i-1n-4w\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-5862940809620110\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"7946604715\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><\/div>","protected":false},"author":124,"template":"","class_list":["post-24438","rtcl_listing","type-rtcl_listing","status-publish","hentry","rtcl_category-medical-healthcare","listing-item","rtcl-listing-item"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/jobbinghood.com\/jobs\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/rtcl_listing\/24438","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/jobbinghood.com\/jobs\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/rtcl_listing"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/jobbinghood.com\/jobs\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/rtcl_listing"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/jobbinghood.com\/jobs\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/124"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/jobbinghood.com\/jobs\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=24438"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
