The Software Engineer I for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for designing, developing, troubleshooting, and debugging software programs for laboratory medical devices and new product development. We are seeking Software Engineers with hands-on C# programming skills.

This position is part of Hematology in Miami, FL, and will be on-site. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

You will be a part of the R&D Software Development team and report to the Sr. Director of Software Engineering responsible for designing, developing, troubleshooting, and debugging medical device software for laboratory systems. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Prototype, design, implement, unit test, and maintain Windows / Linux-based software applications
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams to develop medical device software
  • Work with multi-discipline teams on new product introduction projects while adhering to software development and source control processes
  • Document software, write technical specifications for interfaces and testing
  • Ensuring full compliance with relevant work practices, as required by authorities for medical device product development

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science with 0+ years of experience
  • Experience designing and developing C# based solutions and experience with any user interface development
  • Hands-on experience with MS tools and technologies such as Visual Studio, unit testing frameworks, Azure DevOps
  • Experience in Unit Testing, OOA/OOD development methodologies, and design principles
  • Experience in Agile development processes and philosophies
  • Prefer experience as an Intern

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience in medical device design & development is a plus
  • Understanding of software development processes for a regulated environment (ISO9000/FDA) is a plus
  • Ability to work well with people and be both highly motivated and motivating
