Embedded Software Engineer (C++)

Seeking an Embedded Software Developer for an energy-related client in South Houston / Missouri City, TX.

• Up to $125k DOE plus 12% bonus and full benefits package

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Design, document, develop, and release embedded software to manage microcontroller-based data acquisition applications with focus on high reliability and low power.

MAIN ACTIVITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

· Convert product requirements into embedded software product designs.

· Analyze requirements, develop specifications, implement, and analyze embedded code.

· Design, implement and debug embedded C/C++ software intended to run in an MCU-based environment.

· Work with hardware team to develop product design requirements.

· Design firmware/middleware, algorithms, and conduct timing analysis and test bench verification using standard industry practices and systems.

· Program microcontrollers and programable logic devices.

· Complete prototype install, debug and test of embedded design.

· Create documentation in support of new product introductions (calculation spreadsheets and test specifications as it relates to the embedded design).

· Document design-and-implementation decisions as well as system and software processes as related to embedded design.

· Provide on-going Manufacturing support with embedded design for test fixtures and assemblies used for verification of new product designs.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience in related field.

· 5+ years of experience in a similar role.

· Strong background and hands-on experience in developing embedded C/C++

· Good design and implementation skills; ability to conceptualize the components and design of new applications.

· Ability to design new embedded software components from the ground up, implement code and debugging.

· Experience with multi-threaded software development and real-time OS

· Ability to work well with a team; values the project, company, and co-workers.

· Experience with dynamic, real-time control applications.

· Experience with high performance communication protocols.

· Basic knowledge of GPS time protocols

· Basic familiarity with diagnostic instruments (Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, etc)

· Experience in Python programming a plus
